Wordpress+WooCommerce+CF7: journy.io plugin now available!

Feature Highlights 2 min read
Wordpress + WooCommerce + Contact Form 7 + journy.io — Expose what makes you sell/sign-up on your Wordpress site.

With today (June 2020) some 56,700 plugins available, Wordpress is the absolute winner when it comes to public websites. In fact, according to a very recent survey published by Netcraft, the total amount of active websites is estimated at over 1.3 billion, of which 455,000,000 (35%) are using WordPress right now!

So these stats made us decide to add our own plugin to the mix. One that would —entirely in the spirit of journy.io— ask no effort from a developer and automatically do what it’s supposed to do: expose which channels, ad campaigns, blog- and web-pages contribute to having your visitors buy/sign up on your Wordpress site.

WooCommerce and CF7, more relevant than ever

Some more stats. From technology survey website BuiltWith.com, we see stagering numbers in the use of WooCommerce and Contact Form 7, both Wordpress plugins, in comparison with all other products available, including non-Wordpress. As such, as of 2020, we see 28% using WooCommerce for their e-commerce platform, and 33% using Contact Form 7 to query surveys and visitor information.

Install, activate, enter security credentials... done!

Acting on above statistics, it was clear we wanted to natively detect and support WooCommerce and Contact Form 7 plugins, and automatically send events to you journy.io account. And we’ve made the process super-easy:

  1. Add a plugin on your Wordpress site through plugins->Add a plugin; or check the wordpress.org plugin directory and look for the journy.io page (https://wordpress.org/plugins/journy-io/)
  2. Press activate and go to settings->journy.io
Wordpress plugin directory, journy.io page.

3. Fill in your journy.io Tracker ID and optionally your Advanced Tracking URL.

Settings->journy.io: fill in Tracking ID and optionally Advanced Tracking URL.
WooCommerce and Contact Form 7 will be automatically detected.

4. Upon saving, your e-Commerce and form submission events will be sent to your journy.io account.

What about other e-commerce platforms?

While we’ll be adding support —creating apps and extensions— for other platforms such as Shopify, Magento, OpenCart, BigCommerce etc... we today already support these platform through simple JS integrations. Please stay tuned for more updates shortly.
